Home made ice cream

Ingredients

1 cup milk

¾ cup sugar

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

¼ teaspoon salt 3 egg yolks

METHOD

Lightly beaten 2 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped 2 cups heavy cream 1 teaspoon vanilla. Combine milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Put the yolk in a small bowl. Gradually stir in about 1/2 cup of the hot milk mixture, then return to the saucepan.Heat and stir until thickened, but do not boil. Remove from heat and stir until chopped chocolate melts. Pour into a cold bowl and refrigerate for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Mix in the cream and vanilla. Pour into the ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions.
